Halal Mama

Pregnancy glow?

Yeah, no clue about that one. All these hormones made my skin just... meh.

Recently I've been trying out this silicone facial cleaning brush from SENSSÉ. And you know what? I get why all the beauty bloggers seem to include this kind of brushes in their skincare routine.

When it first arrived, I was a little surprised by how small it actually was. But it's actually great - you can see in the above photo that it fits a hand perfectly, it's not too bulky and can fit perfectly in the toiletries bag, making it perfect for travel.

The brush comes in quite a plain white box, but it does have kind of expensive and luxurious vibe to it. In the box, apart from the brush itself, we find the manual, charging cable and cute glittery cosmetics pouch.

Now, the charging cable might come as a surprise, because it's actually just the cable - no plug. However, personally I don't find it to be much of an issue - with all the phone chargers around the house, it's dead easy to just swap the cables. And if you take the brush with you for the holidays, that's one less plug to pack 😉

The brush has two sides - one for general cleansing, and the back for after-cleansing massage (I've seen other people recommend using it to massage in your moisturiser).

It's really easy to use - just press the button in the middle, and you're good to go. I must admit, it felt a bit weird for the first time, but I just reduced the vibration level to the minimum and slowly worked my way up to the stronger massage (that's what the buttons on either side are for).

Honestly? I'm in love with this! Although the brush itself isn't a miracle cure for my skin problems (and you use it with the usual cleanser anyway), I can definitely say that the gentle massage does make my skin softer.

And you know what? Because you're all awesome and deserve to treat yourselves, one lucky person will win their very own SENSSÉ silicone brush, worth £90! (UK only, please make sure you read the T&Cs below).

If you don't win, you can still get one on Amazon right HERE ðŸ˜‰

Win A Sensse Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush and Exfoliator #6

There's a funny thing about wearing glasses - when you don't need them, you might wonder how it would be to wear them. When you do need a pair, you might hate them.

Over the past few years since I started needing glasses, I myself went from quite liking them, through switching to contact lenses, to falling in love with my glasses. I'm at the point now, where I feel like my face is incomplete without my specs on! I now only use my contacts on super sunny days when I want to wear my sunnies.

Anyway, I've had my favourite pair from GlassesShop.com for about a year now. I like them so much, that my other two pairs are lying somewhere forgotten in the drawer! But recently I started fancying a change, so I was looking around for some new frames. I found a few, but couldn't quite decide. And you know how sometimes, when you're looking for something, it just happens to come your way? Well, GlassesShop.com contacted me again to see if I fancied some new eyeglasses from them! What a perfect timing!

If you haven't seen my previous post about them, GlassesShop.com is your perfect (and cheaper alternative to high street opticians, selling glasses online. They have an amazing choice of frames at great prices, and with their try-it-on tool you can make sure that the frames you fancy actually suit you.

Last time I picked those blue frames, and now for a slight change I chose the pink ones. They have slightly different shape, but you can see it's similar ombre-kind of shading.

All the glasses come with a hard case and microfibre cloth for cleaning. And again, they had the anti-reflective coating - it's quite an important thing for myself, as I work in the environment with all artificial light and spend some time in front of the computer screens.

If you don't mind waiting 2-3 weeks for your new pair, check them out - and with the discount code GSHOT50 you'll get 50% off on any glasses, including lenses (excludes those already on sale). Oh, and they do prescription sunglasses too if you'd rather get 50% of those!

The glasses were sent to me for the purpose of the review. All the opinions are, as always, all mine and honest.

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it's been over five months since my last post. FIVE MONTHS!

Well... I guess since it's now more or less in the open now, I can reveal the major reason behind my absence:

Yup, the Halal family is getting bigger! We've been keeping it quiet and even most people around us didn't know until recently, but with 100 days to go it's kind of hard to hide it now 😉 Although if you follow me on Instagram you might've already seen something couple of weeks back.

So yeah, that's pretty much why t's been quiet here. I haven't been taking this pregnancy as well as my first one, with early back pains, heartburn and the morning sickness lasting like forever. I've just been permanently tired and honestly couldn't even be bothered to find topics to write about - keeping my Instagram active was about as much effort as I could make. Well, since finding out I was pregnant I started having hundreds of ideas for pregnancy and baby related stuff to write, but since we agreed to keep it quiet they obviously had to stay in my notebook...

Anyway, I've decided that it's about time to get back to it. Even Hubby's been encouraging me to start taking care of my blog properly - I think he's seen too much stuff about some bloggers actually making a living from their writing, and although I'd love to be able to do that one day, I'm still far from being the blogging world superstar 😄

Until next time!
(I promise it'll be sooner than 5 months!)
