Welcome in 2015!

So it's 2015. How was the New Year's Eve? Hubby and I finally got a chance to go and see London fireworks together! Although we realised just before going that the event was ticketed, meaning we couldn't get to the main spot, we still managed to get a very good spot in St James's Park.

2014 wasn't bad at all. I changed my job, completed my first Ramadan, Adam turned from a baby to a toddler, I grew my blog a little and even got to work with couple of brands, then just in the end of the year Hubby secured a new job that he will be starting in a few days.

I don't think I've stuck to any of my New Years' resolutions though.

I'm not really making any this year. Instead, I made a little list of goals I would really love to achieve in 2015 (inspired by the lovely Vintage Melissa).

Develop the Blog

Looking at what I've done so far, I feel like I still didn't quite find my way. I started with a new header and a little cosmetic changes to the template - now it's time for the contents. I often want to write about variety of stuff, but feel like it doesn't quite match the blog I've created - apart from few random diary-like posts, it's been mainly about food. Now I want it to be about the "halal" lifestyle in general.

And I want to push myself to post more regularly ;)

Save Money and Make Money

Now that Hubby got his new job, we're hoping for more financial stability. We'd love to finally be able to buy a place of our own, and it looks like there's never been a better time for us to try and save. I'm thinking meal planning, bargains, making a saving plan and proper budgeting. As for making money - time to finally get rid of all this stuff I've been planning to put up on eBay but never quite got round to it. And the money made can go into the savings account ;)

Start up a small, home-based business

That's what I wanted to do for ages too, but the thing with me is that I have millions of ideas, and when I start I lose the drive really quickly. This time, however, I think I have found something I could really make work! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Lose weight

I know, this one sounds like a typical New Year resolution. That's why I'm not promising myself that I'll hit the gym right now, in the beginning of January, but I'm hoping to find some motivation to start working on my body.

Learn the language

I already know this one is hard when trying to do it on my own, but having to work and look after Adam it's hard to actually join any classes. I want to finally make an attempt at learning Urdu and Arabic. Not only starting, but actually do my best to carry on learning.

Better my photography

I often envy other people their photography skills when I look at some other blogs. I need to try and organise my time, read, try, and eventually get the effects I want. If I get successful with my saving, who knows - maybe I can get myself some decent lenses, or a whole new camera kit?

These are probably the main things I'd like to achieve. Or at least attempt to. Have you made any resolutions, or have any goals for this year? Do share!

Let's all have a good year!
